12 January | Entertainment Fundraiser to benefit Coast Guard Families

Freshwater Events Coast Guard benefit

Door at 6pm | Hotel Indigo, 263 W Grandview Pkwy, Traverse City, MI 49684 | MAP

Grand Traverse County, Michigan --Freshwater Events, the VFW Cherryland Post 2780, and Hotel Indigo are teaming up to produce a fundraising event to benefit the families of the Traverse City Coast Guard station.

All year long we are so deeply blessed to have a Coast Guard able and ready 24/7 to rescue us from our folly and emergency situations.

We intend to show our "Coasties" some Traverse City style lovin' and make sure that nobody falls through the cracks financially, or lacks for food, heat, medical treatment, and other life essentials during the Government Shutdown. FREE | A FAMILY/CHILD FRIENDLY EVENT

If you are interested in volunteering, please contact Volunteers@FreshwaterEvents.com and tell us how you'd like to help out.

Live Entertainment | Door at 6pm

Come for the music, stay for the fine food and delicious beverages available at Hotel Indigo.

Kayla, we have not forgotten Coast Guard Families

A Coast Guard spouse has thought about returning her son's Christmas gifts
The shutdown has been a stressful time for some US Coast Guard families, as about 42,000 service members are being forced to work without pay. Kayla says she feels like the Coast Guard has been forgotten in the shutdown, even though it's a branch of the military tasked with protecting Americans. Kayla, whose husband serves in the Coast Guard, says it took a toll on the holiday season.
